To start working with promotions, access the admin area of your website, then move to the App Shop and Store tabs. Find the Promotions module version 1.0.4 using Quick search, and install it on your website.

Once installed, go to the Marketing tools, Promotions, and Prices tabs.

In the Settings section of this page you can apply promotions either to base price or inventory price, or base and inventory prices by clicking on the corresponding radio buttons.  You can switch on/off Use Icon if special is active, Use Product Properties in Promotions and Only active products in tree options.

Add new, edit and delete the existing promotions by clicking on the corresponding buttons. Set up the priority for applying promotions by dragging them from the top to the bottom (the promotion at the top has the highest priority). For existing promotions you can also view Promotion Label, Promotion Description, Status, Allow other, Start date, End date and Promotion Items.

The Filter section allows you to search for promotions by sales channels and statuses.

Note: Regarding apply promotions to base or inventory price or base and inventory price it allows to differentiate between the base and inventory prices for the products that have attributes.

For example the base price for a smartphone is $100 (black colour for example) but for its attribute in red the inventory price is the additional $10 so the smartphone in red costs $110.

If we apply 50% promotion to base price only the smartphone in black will cost $50 and the smartphone in red will cost $60 (the base price is divided into halves - $50 and the same inventory price is added to the half of the base price $50 + $10 = $60).

If we apply 50% promotion to inventory price only the smartphone in black will cost $100 and the smartphone in red will cost $105 (the inventory price is divided into halves - $5 and the same base price is added to the half of the inventory price $100 + $5 = $105).

If we apply 50% promotion to both base and inventory prices the smartphone in black will cost $50 and the smartphone in red will cost $55 (the base price is divided into halves - $50 and the inventory price is divided into halves - $5 so half of the base price is added to the half of the inventory price $50 + $5 = $55).


If you click the Add new button, you can select the required promotion option from the drop-down list.

If you choose the Special price on categories/brands (Salemaker) option, you will automatically move to its settings page.

Using the promotion settings under the Main details tab, you can:

  • switch on/off the status for this promotion, switch on/off Allow other promotions option and switch on/off Hide on dependent products option
  • put the promotion name and description in the Promotion Label and Description fields, and enable Show label on front end option
  • set up start and end dates of the promotion
  • choose Main products stock indication from the drop-down list
  • choose Main, Advanced or Basic groups
  • put a value in the Sale field, and make this value a discount, percent or new price by clicking on the radio buttons in the Type section
  • ignore special price, ignore sale condition or apply sale condition to special price by clicking on the radio buttons in the Condition section
  • specify the order limit in the corresponding field
  • switch on/off Disable Purchase function
  • specify the minimum quantity in the corresponding field
  • choose Categories or Manufacturers by clicking on the corresponding tabs, and choose a category or a manufacturer by checking a box next to it

Note:

Regarding Discount, Percent or New Price, these options work in the following way.

Discount – it makes a certain discount in some value, for example $50 (if the price is $200 it will be $150 after this promotion is applied).

Percent – it makes a certain discount in percent, for example 50% (if the price is $200 it will be $100 after this promotion is applied).

New Price – it completely replaces the price to the price that is indicated in Sale field regardless what price was applied before.


Regarding Ignore special price, Ignore Sale condition or Apply Sale Condition to Special Price, these options work as follows.

Ignore special price – if a product already has a special price then this special price is ignored and the promotion is applied to the base price only (for example a product base price is $100, its special price is $80 and we have this promotion as 50% discount, so the price of this product will be $50 (the promotion is applied to its base price $100, not to its special price $80))

Ignore Sale condition – the promotion will be ignored for the products that already have discounts.

Apply Sale Condition to Special Price - if a product already has a special price then this special price is taken into account and the promotion is applied to the special price (for example a product base price is $100, its special price is $80 and we have this promotion as 50% discount, so the price of this product will be $40 (the promotion is applied to its special price $80))


From this page you can also select an icon by clicking on the corresponding button, set up font color and background color for this promotion. In the pop up window you can either choose existing icons from the gallery, or drop files or upload them.

Here you can also set up promo codes for this promotion by clicking on the Promo Code button. In the pop up window you can either manually fill in this code, or generate it automatically by clicking on the Generate button, set up how many times a promo code can be used, and how many customers can use it.

Under the Assign/Restrict tab, you can assign promotions to the required sales channel(s) and work with other settings as described for the Main details tab.

If you choose Discount from Shopping Cart promotion, you will automatically move to its settings page.

Using the promotion settings under the Main details tab, you can:

  • switch on/off the status for this promotion, switch on/off Allow other promotions option and switch on/off Hide on dependent products option
  • put the promotion name and description in the Promotion Label and Description fields, and enable Show label on front end option
  • set up start and end dates for the promotion
  • choose Main products stock indication from the drop-down list
  • choose Main, Advanced or Basic groups
  • put a value in the Sale field, make this value a discount, percent or new price by clicking on the radio buttons in the Type section
  • Ignore special price, Ignore Sale condition or Apply Sale Condition to Special Price by clicking on the radio buttons in the Condition section
  • specify the order limit in the corresponding field
  • switch on/off Disable Purchase option, specify the minimum quantity in the corresponding field
  • choose a category or a product by clicking on it, and then on >> icon. A category or a product will appear in the right section. If you click on the Main tab and set up buying minimum products quantity for this item, it will affect the chosen item under the Depended tab (if a customer buys minimum products quantity of an item under the Main tab, the Discount from Shopping Cart promotion will be applied to an item under the Depended tab)

Under the Depended tab you can also check/uncheck the option Automatically add some product to customer basket? and Restrict product quantity in customer basket by item limit option.

Note: This promotion works after you put the goods in the shopping cart (not necessarily purchase them to see this promotion). No promotion is applied to the product page but if you put the goods in the shopping cart, you will see this promotion in it, and the goods will be purchased with this promotion applied.

If you choose Multi Discount promotion, you will automatically move to its settings page.

Using the promotion settings under the Main details tab, you can:

  • switch on/off the status for this promotion, switch on/off Allow other promotions option and switch on/off Hide on dependent products option
  • put the promotion name and description in the Promotion Label and Description fields, and enable Show label on front end option
  • set up start and end dates for the promotion
  • choose Main products stock indication from the drop-down list
  • choose a category or a product by clicking on it, and then on >> icon. A category or a product will appear in the right section
  • fill in the Qty, Total amount and Discount fields (if a customer purchases this product or products from this category and the amount in the Total amount field is reached by this purchase, the discount indicated in the Discount field will be applied)

This promotion works both with individual items and with a group of items. If you want to apply this promotion to a group of items, check the boxes next to the required items. The Group button will appear. If you click on this button, you can set up this promotion to a group of items (in the same way as it is done for an individual item).

You can always ungroup the grouped items by checking the box next to a group. The Ungroup button will appear. If you click on it, the items will be ungrouped.

If you choose Discount on each qty step product in Shopping Cart promotion, you will automatically move to its settings page.

Using the promotion settings under the Main details tab, you can:

  • switch on/off the status for this promotion, switch on/off Allow other promotions option and switch on/off Hide on dependent products option
  • put the promotion name and description in the Promotion Label and Description fields, and enable Show label on front end option
  • set up start and end dates for the promotion
  • choose Main products stock indication from the drop-down list
  • choose Main, Advanced or Basic groups
  • put a value in the Sale field, and make this value a percent by clicking on the radio buttons in the Type section
  • ignore special price, ignore sale condition or apply sale condition to special price by clicking on the radio buttons in the Condition section
  • choose a category or a product by clicking on it, and then on >> icon. A category or a product will appear in the right section
  • fill in the Qty field (depending on the number (step) indicated in this field, the promotion will be applied. For example, each second or each third product and so on will be purchased with this promotion)

If you choose Personal Gift on purchase promotion, you will automatically move to its settings page.

Using the promotion settings under the Main details tab, you can:

  • switch on/off the status for this promotion, switch on/off Allow other promotions option and switch on/off Hide on dependent products option
  • put the promotion name and description in the Promotion Label and Description fields, and enable Show label on front end option
  • set up start and end dates for the promotion
  • choose Main products stock indication from the drop-down list
  • select a category or a product by clicking on it, and then on >> icon. A category or a product will appear in the right section
  • fill in the Qty, and Order Total fields (this product will be the gift to a client if the amount in the Order Total field is reached)
  • check/uncheck Skip order history option (will work only for current cart)
  • check/uncheck Use Exclusive VAT mode option

If you choose Free Shipping conditions promotion, you will automatically move to its settings page.

Using the promotion settings under the Main details tab, you can:

  • switch on/off the status for this promotion, switch on/off Allow other promotions option and switch on/off Hide on dependent products option
  • put the promotion name and description in the Promotion Label and Description fields, and enable Show label on front end option
  • set up start and end dates for the promotion
  • choose Main products stock indication from the drop-down list
  • choose Main, Advanced or Basic groups
  • put a value in the Sale field
  • include conditions according to Categories/Products, Manufacturers, Countries and Geo Zones by clicking on the corresponding tabs and choosing the required options there

If you choose Promo Sceleton (HomeFish) promotion, you will automatically move to its settings page.

Using the promotion settings under the Main details tab, you can:

  • switch on/off the status for this promotion, switch on/off Allow other promotions option and switch on/off Hide on dependent products option
  • put the promotion name and description in the Promotion Label and Description fields, and enable Show label on front end option
  • set up start and end dates for the promotion
  • choose Main products stock indication from the drop-down list
  • choose between Specify Restriction, Apply On New Arrivals and Apply On Sales options, and switch them on/off via Assign/Restrict switch. If the switch is off for these 3 options choose a category or a product by clicking on it, and then click on >> icon. A category or a product will appear in the right section. If you choose Apply On Sales option, you can also choose Show icon only, Percent discount and Discount option by clicking on the radio buttons

Note: For this promotion the following settings should be applied.

  1. Allow other option should be switched on.
  2. The Main products Stock indication field should be left blank for the system to pick up the real stock from a product.
  3. The Promo code field should be left blank as well.
  4. Code and description should be added to the Description field.
