Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Hi I have setup the osCommerce database manually, and assigned a user with password to it, but when going through the web setup routine the installation stops after the database details have been entered in stage 6. The /install.php?step=7 page does not complete and ends aftrer the osCommerce Configuration text. When I ask for the install_7.php page manually this error is given Fatal error: Call to undefined function: osc_db_connect() in /home/httpd/server15/html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 36 does anybody know what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
cck23 Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 I am getting exactly the same problem, does anyone else have an answer to this?
stetrk Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Hi guys, I also have the same problem. Are we supposed to change the name of the 'admin' directory before going through the web installation , or afterwards? I went through the whole procedure fine. On the last screen , it says configuration successful, but still gives me this error message. Warning: fopen(/home/iiiii/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/iiiiiiiiiii/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 259 Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/iiiiiiiiiiii/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 260 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/iiiiiiiiiiiiiii/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 261 The shop is actually fine, I just cannot access the admin area even after adjusting to the new admin name. SOME BODY PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP THANK YOU IN ADVANCE, stephanie
241 Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 check your configure.php files if you change the name or location of admin then this has to be reflected in the paths in the configure.php file. You can bypass the script and do a manual install as the script loads the database which can be done manually and writes the configure.php files which can be done manually. Stephanie you should have no worries if the location of admin is the same and the name is all that has changed, it is a straight forward replace instances of admin for the new name. If location and name have changed then point to new location and as above change name No longer giving free advice. Please place deposit in meter slot provided.
