Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 im trying to install the admin login module, what does this mean and how do i do that? : "Steps to get my admin login to work. 1. Cut and paste sql from admin.sql file into phpmyadmin or in similar fashion." also, what does this disclaimer mean and what should be done to prevent lost work? : "DISCLAMER: Don't not copy over file if you made any changes or your work will be lost!!!!!!" thanks alot!
patrickbailey1 Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Yes, if you're using a webhosting server (or have PHPmyAdmin)...you need to "run query"...i.e. type, paste, or use the "browse" to enter in the .sql file that came with the download. Second, the disclaimer means that if you change a file, and then re-load the page that you made changes to...you'll lose the changes. straightforward... Patrick Bailey www.DisplayHaven.com
Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 im sorry, can you please be a little more specific on how i might do that ? im a real newbie here... your help is much appreciated!
patrickbailey1 Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Ok, do you have a webhosting service (um...you pay someone to host your site?) If yes, do you have PHPmyAdmin in your control panel (or somewhere)? Patrick Bailey www.DisplayHaven.com
Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 actually, with a little tinkering around on my webhost... i was able to paste in the SQL file and creat the table... thanks alot for your help. but later, i found that it is easier to just enable pw protection for then admin folder directly on the server.. saves alot of headaches. btw, i also had another question, i will start another thread ( i guess) .. its in regards to adult material on my site... i want to start a section selling adult material, but want the user to accept a agreement stating that they are over 18 etc to access that section... how do i do that? thanks!
patrickbailey1 Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 No idea...but glad you figured out how to run .sql queries...to do most contributions you need to know how to do this! Good luck with your site! Patrick Patrick Bailey www.DisplayHaven.com
