Guest Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Hi Guys, Finished setting up my site etc now and getting really bad search engine submissions and ran a meta tag checker, and found that meta tags weren't really defined and the spiders are overlooking everything for some reason. :( I want to manually add meta tags (or if there is an easier way i'll welcome it), but I wanted to know which file i must put this in? and what code to use? I'll assume it's index.php .. but i have a index.php in my root directory as a redirect to my /catalog. So which one do i use .. the one in the catalog or the one in the root directory? and what do i put in ? html coding or php coding ? Any reply appreciated Thanks

Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 I've checked, found "header tags contribution 2.3", tried entering it in but continually have a error stating that the directory does not exist. It says this for directory /public_html/includes/header_tags.php. But i DID upload the file to that directory and double checked, it is there .. so ? why does it give this error then if the file is already there? I followed the instructiions to the last <? so to speak :) I then tried putting the code in raw without the <?php and <? at the end .. that seemed to work, but the .php files that i updated did exactly the same thing .. the title stayed exactly the same so the contribution somehow didn't work. Please bare in mind that i've just recently started learning PHP as I was forced to setup my OSCommerce on my own, and have not got a thorough working knowledge of PHP. Any suggestions?
