MLu Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 I sell to various European countries where tax rates varies from 7% to 25%. The problem is that if I chooses "Display prices with tax" in Admin, the tax rate used is the tax rate in the country where the store belongs (as far as I have understood it). This applies as long as the customer has not logged in yet, but after login, the tax-rate of the customers country is applied? Therefore, what I would like, is a hack where I apply a tax-rate dependent on the selected language so that this is used on the shop prices incl. tax until login. I'm aware that this is technically not 100% correct, and will result in errors if for example a German customer selects English language, but anyway, it's a lot better than how osCommerce works as default. I hope there might be a single php-file to modify to achieve this. Could anyobe please help? Or is there a contrib that would do the same? Thanks Mogens
MLu Posted July 4, 2004 Author Posted July 4, 2004 Anyone? We have lost more than 50% turnover the last 14 days due to customers are getting confused about prices. I would really appreciate a hint about where to look for the functionality that adds the tax-rate of the shops country before the customers log in. Thanks! Mogens
MLu Posted August 26, 2004 Author Posted August 26, 2004 This problem is still teasing me. An idea I have thought about was to have a front page where the customer chooses country. Then this could point to various sites, where the correct tax rate is used. From an administrative point of view this would mean that I had to maintain two extra sites, and complicating my daily order routines etc. Are there any suggestions on how to do this but sharing databases as far as possible?? Thanks for any help! Mogens
