I'm a newbie trying to install osCommerce. I've installed it on a Linux RedHat system.

I couldn't get the install to work through the web interface, so I installed it manuall:

mysqladmin create osCommerce

mysql osCommerce < ./install/oscommerce.sql

There were no errors. I can verify the that the osCommerce tables were loaded:

mysqlshow osCommerce

However, when I type http://localhost/catalog, the browser substitutes http://localhost/catalog/install/index.php, the web installation procedure.

How do I launch the catalog and why is the address being changed?

TIA

Remove or change the name of the install folder.

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux

Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)

you need to open your configure.php files and set them up properly, follow the installation procedures in knowledge base.
