Need To Add 5% on total charge if credit card

Hi,

 

I have an option to pay by credit card or by money order. When the customer pays by credit card, i need to be able to add an additional 5% on the total price and have it displayed to the user at the confirmation page where all the totals are displayed as well.

 

Can anyone show me where I can do that and how I can have it displayed on the confirmation page with all the rest of the prices being displayed as well?

I suggest that you check your credit card merchant agreement to see if this is allowed. In the US, it is not. The UK does allow it under some circumstances.

 

You would be far better off to set your product prices to account for the "cost of doing business" that is the credit card fee (unlikely to be as high as 5%.)

 

If you wanted to go ahead and do this, I would take the Low Order Fee order total module and modify it for your needs.

Or you could set all your prices with the extra 5%, and offer a "cash discount"...
