membersonlyshopping Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Hi... I have been trying to install the cart and I keep coming up with a configuration error... I will copy it here: The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set. Please perform the following actions: cd /home2/spartan/public_html/catalog/includes/ touch configure.php chmod 706 configure.php cd /home2/spartan/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/ touch configure.php chmod 706 configure.php If chmod 706 does not work, please try chmod 777. If you are running this installation procedure under a Microsoft Windows environment, try renaming the existing configuration file so a new file can be created. Now.. getting to the second step is easy.. but I don't understand what the (chmod 706 configure.php) means... I don't see this anywhere...not in the file or around it when I click it... what does this mean and where do I find it in order to change it? Thanks Terri
vasttech Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Use your FTP program or your hosts control panel file manager to change the permissions on the file. CHMOD = unix command to change file permissions. osCommerce Knowledge Base osCommerce Documentation Contributions
membersonlyshopping Posted June 25, 2004 Author Posted June 25, 2004 I have done that.. I used file manager and changed the permissions for all to write... and it still doesn't work... What was the last part talking about when it said change the file name... does that mean the file in file manager or whatever it is I am entering into the feilds before i get to this point...
vasttech Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 You can rename the file in file manager and the install process will create a new file. osCommerce Knowledge Base osCommerce Documentation Contributions
