♥bruyndoncx Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Hello all, I think the KB is an excellent initiative to document the functionality of the standard osCommerce installation, but I feel we're also in need of a guide that describes the contributions available for particular functional areas and the typical contributions/modifications needed for different kinds of stores. This will allow people to make a better informed decision to go for one or the other contribution; and would generally save time and frustration when it turns out that the contribution doesn't meet their needs. For example, functionality & contribs I'd like to see covered: * Product Attributes: - Master Products, - Quantity Tracker Pro - Option Types - Alternative attribute handler - Attribute Sets - Static Attributes * Bulk data changes: - Easy Populate - Quick Updates * Additional pages - Article Manager - different Infobox contribs - don't know which ones - News Desk * Printing catalog content - Printable Pricelist - PDF catalog - Print catalog As for typical modifications for different kinds of stores: - Clothing - Bookshop - Electronics - Music Question: is it a possibility to extend the structure of the KB and have a branch that discusses contribution features and limitations ? Advantage would be that as soon as they would become part of the core, the documentation has been written already. KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON I do not use the responsive bootstrap version since i coded my responsive version earlier, but i have bought every 28d of code package to support burts effort and keep this forum alive (albeit more like on life support). So if you are still here ? What are you waiting for ?! Find the most frequent unique errors to fix: grep "PHP" php_error_log.txt | sed "s/^.* PHP/PHP/g" |grep "line" |sort | uniq -c | sort -r > counterrors.txt
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Adding to the KB site is no problem :) It would be great if documentation regarding contributions can be submited to this forum channel to be considered for inclusion. , osCommerce
