Folder and File Permissions

Hello,

I was using my ftp program to change some permissions on a few image files and I accidently changed permissions on a bunch of files and folders. Is there a way I can fix this (Maybe with a reinstall) I really don't want to loose the work I have already done? I have no idea what the permissions were for the folders and files under catalog. Should I just start over?

Thanks,

download a spare copy of osc - and see what the permissions are on that and duplicate on your store.

Your online success is Paramount.

I just unzipped the oscommerce-2.2ms2 to my C:\OS Full Program

My FileZilla FTP program Shows the File Attributes on my Remote Site:

Owner Permissions: Read, Write, Execute

Group Permissions:Read , Write, Execute

Public Permissions: Read, Write, Execute

(I know I changed a bunch all at once on accident.

However the File Attributes are NOT on my Local. For this reason I have no idea what folders need what permissions.

I messed up the permissions on my live new website. I was wondering what is the best way to get all the permissions from /catalog down back to factory defaults so to speak.

my problem is not on my local home pc. It's on my ISP server. You should know I can change the permissions and have access. I just don't know what to change them too.

I don't know what a *nix box is so I don't think I have one.
