piratesgold Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 First, I just loaded the latest version of osCommerce and so far I love it (spent several days with CubeCart and dumped it) I cannot find a reference to how to protect the admin area. When I go to my admin site (http://www.XXXXX.XXX/admin/index.php), it just pops up the admin site without asking for the username and password I chose when I built the site! How do I secure this from hackers? Thanks, Piratesgold (A newbie so be gentle) ?Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.?

Most have this option so I would start there if you are using cpanel look for web protect and others probably have it named something similar. If is is not available I would search through the contributions as I believe there are a couple that will do the job. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

Thanks for taking the time to help. Piratesgold ?Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.?
