NordicElf Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 Hi This is on my test site on my local pc. It was working fine and then suddenly MySQL stopped working, which wasn't a problem at the time because I'd done most of the work, now I want to test a contrib before I upload to my live site. The Problem: When I start MySQl with the WinMySQLAdmin 1.4, I get this error in the Environment window, window title: MyODBC, Message: Driver 3.51 Not Found. The service doesn't start and I get a red traffic light. (I'm not sure why this started, I don't think I need MyODBC) I'm running Windows XP Pro. So installed MyODBC Driver 3.51.07 and now I get this error: Environment window, window title: MyODBC, Message: Not Found Driver Version Driver C:\WINDOWS\System32\myodbc3.dll API Level Setup C:\WINDOWS\System32\myodbc3.dll SQL Level I've checked and this file is there. I've searched the web every where, seen lots of instances of this problem but not one solution. I've re-installed MySQL numerous times. Does anyone have a clue! I'm desperate!!!! TIA Michelle
NordicElf Posted June 24, 2004 Author Posted June 24, 2004 I really can't afford the support from MySQL, I'm not sure whether those "expert" sites are worth it or not, does anyone have any ideas on where I could get some help with this problem. It's driving me banana's and there really are more interesting things I'd like to think about other than my broken database!!!!! Michelle :(
Guest Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 why are you using odbc for your local system? do you need it for anything? if you want to use odbc, then on xp you need to go into control panel administrative and then odbc, then see if you have the driver in there. if not, download from mysql.com and install.
