shawrj Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 With my hosting account I have access to a secure server, which is shared between lots of other accounts as a cheaper way of havig a secure server, i.e. https://www.asecureserver.com/myaccount/ etc. Do I need to install (is it possible?) osCommerce on the secure server as well? Is it going to be easier/is it neccessary to buy my own secure server? What I require is oscommerce to dump all the order details on the secure server as a text file. I don't want all the orders dumped in any kind of database really, as I don't want the company which I am working for to have access to the oscommerce admin. Thanks for the support Rob
shawrj Posted June 22, 2004 Author Posted June 22, 2004 I'd also like to know if anyone can point me to details of how to install a .htaccess file to protect the admin directory. Ta.
kevstor Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 I have the same problem with shared SSL, I'll let you know if I find a solution. Shouldnt have to upload any OSC files to the SSL space but I'm getting CGI bin errors at the moment when I try and checkout. I can see that the session id is being passed to the SSL. You can set up .htaccess easily, just do a search for .htaccess, it uses a .htpasswd file as well. Easier on unix/linux with shell access but can be done on windows boxes as well.
shawrj Posted June 24, 2004 Author Posted June 24, 2004 Got the .htaccess sorted. Surprised at how easy that was. Still need to find a solution to shared SSL though.
