Moving from Linux to Windows Server 2003

Will I have any trouble transfering my existing site from Linux to Windows Server 2003? I would that it wouldn't matter what platform it was installed on as long as PHP, mysql, apache, etc. are installed and working correctly.

Another question this brings to mind, will I run into any problems if I transfer servers to one that has a newer version of PHP installed?

Thanks for any help! :D

is the windows server 2k3 setup by someone else or are you setting it up? most who have tried on w2k3 have failed, so you would be better off setting up a site to see if you can actually get it to work properly.

you are better off staying on *nix, is there some reason for changing os?

I'm more comfortable and experienced with Windows Server 2003 that *nix. :D

Curious as to why people couldn't get it to run on W2k3... :(

iis6 is the animal, with iis5 there is no problem.

I might just stay with *nix then, I don't have the time to troubleshoot problems. At least with *nix, it'll be a lot easier regarding transferring my existing site I would think. Ah well! B)

yes, you are better off. i have been playing with iis6 on my sbs2k3 server and oscommerce but am only doing it internally, there are some glitches. and with my sbs server in calgary and i am in boston, a bit tougher, so dont want things to crash, as i dont get to calgary very often.
