Transfer products from old store to new?

I quickly set up my store using the basic oscommerce format, but I am working on a fancier version that I haven't launched yet. How do I copy the products & categories from the other store to the new version?

the easiest way is to do a backup of the database. just make sure the company configuration and information is the same, as this gets over written, unless you want to open the backup file and remove that section from being restored . . .

 

then restore the database with the valid products to the store. this is as long as you do not want any products in the store other than the ones you are transferring.

 

a bit more detail on your part of what you are really wanting to do, whether you want to keep any of the other info, etc would be very helpful

Hi,

 

Basically all I want are the products (there are about 50 of them), and I did forget that I have to do the basic store config (tax info, store location, etc etc) so I'll need that too so I don't have to do all that work again.
