How to NOT display product options?

How can i use the product options, while still being able to use the products_options* and products_attributes* tables in the database?

I was hoping there would be a setting within the Admin/Configuration to just "not display" product options/attributes even if they were available.

 

i'd like to use those tables "invisibly" (or at least have the ability to have product attributes without displaying them to the buyers).

 

Anyone? suggestions?

I think I'm looking for the same thing... correct me if I'm wrong.

 

I have an option of format, and it is CD $12.98, Cassette $1.98 and LP $6.98 - on the product info page, I'd love the drop down box to display just that, without the whole +/- thing which looks awful.

 

Any suggestions?
