hi..

i have installed a demo oscommerce to see what it looks like, its limitations and etc. i installed it through my hosting account using fantastio. so it installed it for me. but now i see a styled (css must be working) page that is missing the images. i looked at the wiki and it said to alter the relative stylesheets, when i checked it was fine.

you can view my demo cart to see what is going wrong.

i have a feeling it is something to do with the relative framework of the pages, or perhaps my mac has gone wrong......but i did test it on 8 different browsers and still the same result.

any help is appreicated, and my appologies if this is a trival issue,

Probably an error in includes/configure.php. It can't find the images/ directory.

If you right click on the picture so you can check the properties you get this path.

http://demo1.yellowgrape.com/images/oscommerce.gif

This seems to be the correct one so I do not think that is the problem. I would look at your permissions for your images folder and try changing it to 777 and see if that fixes the problem.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

ozcsys, thanks for the help. i have tried what you have suggested but it is still the same. the images folder is set to 777 file permission. do the actual images files have to be set to 777 aswell? my images files vary from 655 and 777.

this is still not working, any help is still appreciated.

In your configuration files, for http server, try replacing the demo1.yellowgrape.com with the actual address. This is a resolved address that your server probably does not see.

Example: shop.mystore.com path is actuall mystore.com/shop so, http server address in configure.php would be www.mystore.com/shop

Look for hotlinking protection set somewhere on your server, a .htaccess file or something. Maybe the server sees the subdomain as a foreign request.

solved! yes for some reason www.yellowgrape.com/demo1 works yet not the subdomain. i will look for into the configure.php file and see what i can find, thank you GeoTex....

also i think the hotlinking may have something to do with it as some other folders are not working..i will look into that also, thank you AlanR,

thank you both for the head start in solving my problem. help was really appreciated...

p.s. this community is alot nicer than mandrake forums :)

i will give an update on my solved problem in a few days
