Hi, on oscommerce 2.2, there are a selection of payment methods you an use for your shopping basket. There is one named credit card. Does anyone know what credit cards this takes?

Thanks

Chris :D

If I understand your question correctly, it will conduct virtually all major cards. But this is entirely dependent on your merchant account. You must work out the acceptance with your card bank.

In my site, I accept MC, Visa, Amex, Discover, Diners Club and JCB. It handles all of these perfectly.

Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database.

Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.

Hi thanks for the reply. Although I am a little confused  When you edit the credit card module in the admin area. It says...

"Split Credit Card E-Mail Address

If an e-mail address is entered, the middle digits of the credit card number will be sent to the e-mail address (the outside digits are stored in the database with the middle digits censored)"

I dont understand, so I add my e-mail address there? How does it tell who it pays?

Sorry if this seems dim... but I really dont get it

Thanks

That credit card module provides you the card information and you run it manually if you have a credit card terminal and merchant account in a real world store. It sends you the middle digits by email. You retrieve the rest of the card information from the cart admin online. Then run the card manually on your physical card terminal.

If you are wanting to process the card online you will need to set up a merchant account with your bank or with one of the many companies that specialize in merchant accounts. Or you can sign up with a third party card processor.

Either way, you will then need to install the appropriate contribution for that processor.

If you want to see some of the card processing contribs that are available, go to the contributions page -> Payment Modules.

I don't think it is permitted for me to reccomend a card bank on the forum, but one thing I can tell you is to do your homework and select carefully. If you are only going to process a limited number of card transactions, then you may want to look at the third party processors. If you are expecting moderate to high volume, then a full merchant account is your best bet.

Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database.

Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.

I hope someone can help me. I have made several posts on this subject but no takers so far.

I am using authorize.net everything is going smooth but I get no CC data emailed to me nor is it in the database.

all customer records are in but the billing fields are blank.

If someone knows and could tell me where to start troubleshooting this problem I will be most grateful.

thank you

:)
