Not bad...needs some more work, kind of still look oscommerce-ish, which is not a bad thing as long as you make profit with your site.

 

your top banner is alittle to wide, causing it to push the other 3 images to the right and out of sight.

Craig - I personally don't mind the stock layout. It's very clean and easy to use. I like your site. I would have to agree about the header, in 1024 it's fine, but I can tell 800 would be out of the screen.

 

Rusty - two things; first, get rid of the entrance wav file. Those are EXTREMELY annoying!! Second, you might want to look at the "center shop" contribution in my signature. Where Craig has the problem of too large of a header, you have too small of a header. Your header is actually OK as long as you change the width of your page to match. Your header is 800, but your shop is 100%, which makes your site weird for any screens larger than 800.

 

Other than that, I think both your shops look good.

First, thanks for the input. I do have a lot of work left to do but I have begun to try to get a few special mods working for my cusotmers first. Only been working on it for a little over a month and web design and php are brand new to me. BIG learning curve. Rusty, you've odne some cool things on your site. The first thing that struck me was that I could not figure out what your store name was until it finally loaded the whole banner. Try to get something up there that has your name in it while the ani is loading, like included in the "loading 35%" text. Eric I will work on my logo, hadn't thought about the smaller screen, and thanks Chris, I will deal with that tonight. Thanks again you guys, any more? :D

The total size of this page is 259410 bytes, which will load in 51.90 seconds on a 56Kbps modem. Consider reducing total page size to less than 30K to achieve sub eight second response times on 56K connections. Pages over 100K exceed most attention thresholds at 56Kbps, even with feedback.

Great stats Mibble! I have used a couple of online site analysis tools to check that stuff as well as other stuff. Since my browser caches everything and as much work as I do back and forth it is difficult to guage that stuff.

I made a few fixes. Shipment Tracking works now and I think I delt with my oversize logo in the header. I hate how the site looks in 1024X768 with "center shop" installed, but I guess that is the best of both worlds for now. I will work on it. Thanks again John, Rusty, Eric and Chris. If anyone has any other suggestions or comments let me have 'em!:)

A couple of spellings in the categories: televisions (+e) & plasma displays (no apostrophe).

 

You need to get some line breaks ( <br> ) into your product descriptions especially the computers as the long ones are a bit unreadable.

 

Also there's a bunch of "®" in the description of Desktop HP AMD 2800 Multi-Media Special

I hadn't thought of just shrinking the screen to 800 while building, I think I will try to work with that.

Yeah, I have found myself rushing through the descriptions and using the cut&paste method a little too much. That's where the oddball characters come from.

Like so many other things, it had not occurred to me to use line breaks. DUH! I am trying to get a pop-up for additional info (details) to work so I can keep the descriptions a little less wordy. Any suggestions on that one?
