Strange problem between UPS and FedEx

Recently I tried to yet again install the FedEx module on my site. I noticed today though that installing the FedEx module disables UPS ?? FedEx was installed but not even enabled (as I hadn't tested it yet) but nonetheless, the UPS shipping option disappeared. I uninstalled FedEx and UPS is working fine again. Anyone ever encounter this issue?
