DasMan
:o Hi everyone, totally new to the wonderful wolrd of os. I have my own webserver which is hosted by an external ISP, I also have MySql running and PHP. In the past I have written a website (ecommerce) using MySql, PHP and good old fashioned HTML. Not very good - but working. I've now downloaded the files (I'm using Windows XP), installed these files into a user account on my webserver. I've created a database on my MySql server, gone to the home directory and the page that is stated as coming up does indeed come up !! I can then proceed to confirm details such as the webserver, mysql server, etc - the database is then populated with the tables required for the os and things proceed ok. This is until I get the following error The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set. Please perform the following actions: cd /home/users/wcsuk.net/harry/public_html/includes/ touch configure.php chmod 706 configure.php cd /home/users/wcsuk.net/harry/public_html/admin/includes/ touch configure.php chmod 706 configure.php :( I've connected to my webserver, changed the CHMOD on pretty much all files to 777 - but I can't seem to go anyfurther. I know this is me being thick - I just can't seemed to solve the issue !! Anyone got any ideas ? Thanks Dave.
Guest
This does not always work using an FTP client - try your webserver control panel to set directory/file permissions. Matti
