Guest
I have installed USPS methods 2.7a and it seems to work fine for international rates, which is all I want to use it for. I have disabled all options for US domestic shipments. However, when I enter a US domestic address it gives me an error message An error occured with the USPS shipping calculations. If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner. I have also installed UPS Choice and only want to use UPS in the US. Does anyone know why I would be getting the USPS error message and how to keep it from appearing at checkout? thx Mike H
mugitty
Mike; Does the error go away if you enable any one method for domestic? If so, I would guess that the error is a result of an empty or undefined field being sent in the rate request to the USPS server. I'm not sure that you can correct that without seriously hacking into the code of usps.php (I wouldn't know where to start myself). There is an option in the Admin to allow the module's use only for a given zone - you might create a zone for all the world except the USA or possibly see if that option could be amended (again, hacking into the code) so that it allowed use of the module for any zone EXCEPT the selected one and create a zone that included only the USA Quote ... if you want to REALLY see something that doesn't set up right out of the box without some tweaking, try being a Foster Parent! Guest
Stuart, Does the error go away if you enable any one method for domestic?Yes. It works fine if I enable at least one method. I think you are correct that I must be sending an undefined field which in turn triggers the error. you might create a zone for all the world except the USA or possibly see if that option could be amendedI'll have to give this a try. Thanks for the help.
Guest
you might create a zone for all the world except the U Is there an easy way to do this? It appears to be a long, tedious process of adding each country, one at a time, to a new zone.... B)
