ScorpionWsM
Never happy until I`m happy but it's not bad, color scheme shocks at first, then grows on you like fungi. Need a few extra bits and bobs in the middle, but only been using this for a few days and most of those have been installing and reinstalling :) Still hopefully big plans. Only if your over 18 or 21 in other countries and your not offended by sexual content
cdi-buy.com
Pretty stock layout but clean. Your categories are very confusing...why have "catalogue products" as its own category? Your store IS your catalogue. And why have a Novelties AND a Sex Toys category? Sex toys are always considered novelties. I would categorize things more by their purpose (well, INTENDED purpose ). Example: Butt Plugs, Dildos/Dongs, Love Rings, Lingerie, Bondage Gear, etc. Then break those down if necessary into subcategories. Also, your images are not loading for your subcategories. I didnt look further to see if anything else needs worked on, especially since my website isn't exactly a masterpiece either.
ScorpionWsM
Hi Don, Thanks for your comments. Dont worry nothing is ever 100% complete with me, I can always do better, the color scheme is now a lot better (I fess I nicked) but would love to do more with it. Apart from that though, this is the moment I`ve dreamed about, being my own boss and running my own store, even if it is drop shipping, rock on osCommerce. One thing I want to find out how to do is stop the main cats going into the tree menu as find that annoying and untidy. Then put some borders around the images, so that the graphics look blended rather than a white background against pink. Still 10% off to all members of osCommerce if anyone is interested ;) Mark
cdi-buy.com
If you want a drop down menu for your categories like I have, it's available as a simple contribution here. There are also contributions for dynamic menus that branch out only when the mouse hovers over. There are other contributions that allow you to customize headers and such. Just browse here. ScorpionWsM
Hi Don, Cheers for that, been going through the contribs and installed a few, and messed up a few, either that or they dont work, being English, they dont work rather than me messing up :D One thing about drop down menus, there more tidy, but crap for SEO work as the search engines wont read them, so always better to have a list, unless you can get traffic. Yours is pretty much same as my, just bog standard, the centering I think doesnt do nothing for the website, at first I liked the centered bit, but looking at the new color scheme, I think it looks better in full mode, some websites do look good centered, but I think bog standard out of the box osCommerce doesnt 100%. Anyway time for my medication ;)
ScorpionWsM
Just checked yours as well Fire, You really need to sort out the actual navigation system and boxes, as that lets the whole effect down on your main page. Your main page looks the business, your header looks the business, but then you`ve got these boring, plain, ugly blue standard boxes. If you could sort those to match the quality of the other parts, your be onto a winner.
burt
Both of your sites are very plain. No "enjoyment" - are the actual products as boring as your sites? This page: http://www.sexylittlenumbers.co.uk/ is great. Whichever one of you owns that site, you should make your shop as good as that page.
