osCommerce forum really slow

ok sorry if this annoys any one but a lot of the time i try and get in to the forum and it loads and loads and loads and never really gets loaded are all of you having that problem? is it my connection? i have cable, i have a good comp i built to play games on and it is fast in online games is it something i am doing?or is it just the forum needs a better server? to the powers that be if you needmoney for better server or what ever maybe make it so we all have to pay a few bucks,give a month free to test forum out then 5 bucks or 10 bucks a year to be a member i dont know.i do know a forum i cant access is no fun at all. also while i am suggesting why not a live chat area?? do you have that? if so i havent found it.ok just color me confused in nebraska sorry for the rant

Posted about this exact issue the other day. Response given was that the number of simultaneous users are causing the problem. eg, the server can't handle the traffic. Don't know if anyone is familiar with the CDRG forums, but they were running with often thousands of users at once with no noticable slowdown. Must have been a bad-a-- server though. ;)

We are currently having a few issues with the board due to the sheer amount of traffic and users visiting osCommerce.

 

We are doing our best to keep things up and running as much as possible.

please understand i am not complaining,i think this program and this forum is the best.I guess personaly i just want the powers that be to know some of us dont need nor want a "free ride" and know that servers cost money and would be willing to support this whole thing with a monetery contribution if that is what is needed to kick it in high gear so to speak.I love open source
