SSL pages dont get modified?

it could be because they are using different style sheets, look at the view---source for each page and you can see which stylesheet is in use fpor that page.

No the stylesheet is the same because the box border and header colours are good. but the layout and the corner images are not... and those gray corner images are not even there anymore :S

Of course running without SSL means that any passwords and (gulp) credit card info is being sent over the Internet as open text so that anyone using a packet sniffer could capture them.

 

I noticed that you mentioned that one of the symptoms was missing corner images on secured pages. If your host uses the Plesk control panel (and possibly others that I'm not aware of), it uses an entirely separate directory for secure pages and images.

 

You may also want to double check all of the lines in /catalog/includes/configure.php that relate to https to make sure they point to the correct locations.

Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database.

Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.
