Guest Posted June 8, 2004 Share Posted June 8, 2004 Every time I try to edit the files on the server (which I have to do because Dreamweaver and Frontpage both modify my code everytime I try to upload it) I get this message. Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on: /home/tecadmin/pub_html/www.theentertainmentcenter.com/store/catalog//shipping.php Please help! zzfritz Posted June 8, 2004 Share Posted June 8, 2004 In my opinion it really is better to use a text editor locally and upload with an FTP client. Some text editors (such as EditPlus) have FTP remote capability built in. You are, of course, correct in avoiding FrontPage like the plague it is ... usmedia Posted June 10, 2004 Share Posted June 10, 2004 you get the permissions error because the file is set to read only. you will need to give it write permission before you can write to it.
