WS Evolution Posted June 8, 2004 Share Posted June 8, 2004 (edited) I have the following problem with linkpointms1: When you first enter credit card details it would seem only the credit card number is checked with linkpoint or by the linkpointms1.php code???. You are allowed to proceed to checkout process without any checks made on the verification value and the expiry date?. If there is an error with the credit card number or the expiry date is imposable, an error massage is displayed correctly. BUT?. When the card is being processed the expiry data and Card Verification Value is checked. If there is an error with the process you are returned to checkout payment with an error in the URL?. For example: [URL=https://www.myshops.com/checkout_payment.php?error_message=There+has+been+an+error+processing+your+credit+card%2C+please+try+again+:%20D:Declined:YYYN:]https://www.myshops.com/checkout_payment.ph...:Declined:YYYN:[/URL] This error message does not show in the error box on the page, only in the URL. The customer will often not notice the error in the URL and will be unaware of the error made. They will think the problem is with the site and not the information they gave.. Even if the URL message was displayed on the page it does not explain which information caused the error. Should this information be displayed in OSC as default? Or is there an error in the code? What would be the best method to inform the customer of an error? Can all credit card details be checked at the checkout payment rather than when it?s being processed?
