checkout_process.php freezes up!! SSL error?

I'm encountering a problem with my checkout_process.php page. When I click on the checkout button, the page just seems to freeze up. I installed SSL last week, and it was working just fine until this. Has anyone else seen this problem? If you'd like, create an account and see for yourself:

Are you storing sessions via the Database or in a cookie? When I roll over I do not see a session ID? Also I noticed that you have modded the shopping cart page, this may have had an effect on your checkout_process.php button link. Check to make sure your link is established also in your config file under includes.

Can I see your shopping_cart.php script.

I'm not quite sure. I remember in the past seeing something about storing seesion via the database or in cookies, but I couldn't seem to find that anywhere this morning. Maybe you could help tell me where to find that out? Here's my shopping_cart.php file:

Can ANYONE help me with this? We were planning on going live with our shop at the beginning of this week, and now this is holding me up. I really have no idea what to do here, but I know there are many of you that could offer me advice. Any help is appreciated!!!

You need to check in your catalog/includes/configure.php file. Around the last line of the config file you will see around line 43 this:

First, I'm storing my sessions via the Database.

I found out late last week that my problem lies in the FedEx Real-Time Quote shipping module. For some reason, the cURL sommunication between the server we use and FedEx's server isn't working properly. I've posted quite a few comments on the FedEx contrib thread:

and I've searched these forums for other people with the same issue. For those with the same issue, I've tried contacting them to see if they solved the problem. I've gotten no reply on anything.

Anyway, I'm figuring this is some sort of problem with my server's cURL. Phpinfo.php indicates that all systems are good with how it's compiled:

I tried asking my server for some help with debugging, but they're not much help. So, what I figure I'd like to do is run a dummy PHP script that implements cURL and see how it turns out. The only problem is that I have no idea how to do this (I've do a lot of coding in the past, but don't have much of a working knowledge about php). I tried inserting echo scripts inside the Fedex1.php file to see what I was getting, and nothing turned up.

Anyway, I really need help with this, as our site is practically live now, and I'm using fixed shipping prices to deal with the low volume we've had this first week. Any help/direction/advice would be helpful.
