zareen
This is an insane question, but what is wrong with my configure.php file? It doesn't have cookie paths defined? I didn't install this, so I don't know where it came from. I think I'm the current version. My files say: Copyright © 2003 osCommerce. define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.spincraftpatterns.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://secure-order-server.net/mwdb11b2'); define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://www.spincraftpatterns.com'); define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://secure-order-server.net/mwdb11b2'); define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'true'); // secure webserver for catalog module define('DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT', '/home/zareen/public_html/'); // where the pages are located on the server define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/admin/'); // absolute path required define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/home/zareen/public_html/admin/'); // absolute pate required define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/'); // absolute path required define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/zareen/public_html/'); // absolute path required define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG','/'); define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG','/'); define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/'); define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . bluepony
There are 2 configure.php files. One for Admin and one for Catalog. You are looking at the Admin one which does not use the cookie defines. I'd rather be flying!
zareen
Thanks Henry. Unfortunately for me. This is the file located in spincraftpatterns.com/includes. And I have an identical one in spincraftpatterns.com/admin/includes. No wonder things work strangely! What can I do? Can I just pick up a new one from a clean download, fill in the blanks and upload it? I'm afraid I'll crash my site which (strangely enough) is up and running. bluepony
Yes, that would be the best way. I tried your site and since it is not using cookies, the session id is carried throughout the pages. Normally the session id only appears once and then it is stored in a cookie. Here is the default one for the catalog/includes/configure.php. Just fill in the blanks using your admin/includes/configure.php as a guide: <?php /* $Id: configure.php,v 1.14 2003/07/09 01:15:48 hpdl Exp $ osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions http://www.oscommerce.com Copyright (c) 2003 osCommerce Released under the GNU General Public License */ // Define the webserver and path parameters // * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical) // * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL) define('HTTP_SERVER', ''); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('HTTPS_SERVER', ''); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure? define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', ''); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', ''); define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', ''); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', ''); define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', ''); define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', ''); define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/'); define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/'); define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/'); define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'boxes/'); define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/'); define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/'); define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/'); define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/'); define('DIR_WS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', 'pub/'); define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', dirname($HTTP_SERVER_VARS['SCRIPT_FILENAME'])); define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/'); define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'pub/'); // define our database connection define('DB_SERVER', ''); // eg, localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', ''); define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', ''); define('DB_DATABASE', 'osCommerce'); define('USE_PCONNECT', 'false'); // use persistent connections? define('STORE_SESSIONS', ''); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql' ?> I'd rather be flying!
