As the standard package is so comprehensive, we've only added a few contributions. We've now looking for stock control, shipping costs and category title/metatag contributions. We're currently working on SEO (who isn't), so any pointers in that area would be good. As you can see, we've a home page that links to the site, and we're building reference/library material alongside. Apart from being useful, we hope this will help to plug gaps with category title/metatags. mark27uk3 Posted June 7, 2004 Share Posted June 7, 2004 Hi Charterhouse, Just a few comments and suggestions for you about your site. 1. Get rid of the splash page! (They are a pain in the ****!) 2. The corner_left.gif needs sorting out to get rid of the white lines. 3. Your header logo is nice and simple but it is let down by the gawdy icons on the right. 4. If your site is only in english and you only accept ?'s then get rid of the languages and currencies infoboxes they are not needed. 5. In the header navigation bar 'All products is stuck out on a limb and looks a bit daft. 6. Consider changing your button set it tends to clash abit with the background colour. bluepony Posted June 7, 2004 Share Posted June 7, 2004 1. You should block some of your folders from being indexed. For example: http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk/catalog/images. It helps to prevent someone from snooping around or downloading files. Especially if you add subfolders or store other documents in there. 2. You have 239 countries listed in your account page. Are you really going to offer shipping to all 239 countries? Do you know the proper postage to Afghanistan for example? Just something to think about. I'd rather be flying! schneckster Posted June 9, 2004 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Nice site. You've done a few things I've been trying (and failing! LOL!) to do with mine. One thing, though... do some proof reading. I've seen one or two spelling mistakes on there. Nit picking, I know, but spelling mistakes reduce your air of professionalism and it's usual an easy thing for someone who didn't write it to spot.
