GraphicsGuy Posted June 7, 2004 Share Posted June 7, 2004 Its not a real good idea to have osc doing the resizing for you, it can result in strange looking photos and poor page load times. The best thing to do is get a cheap (or free if you can find one) image editor program. All of them that I am aware of allow you to change the size of photos. The better ones allow you to change the canvas (page) size without altering the photo content's dimensions. For example it will let you put a 175pixel x 200pixel image onto a 200x200 white background and save it. Resulting in a 200x200 pixel image without distorting the photo. If the largest dimension of the original photo was larger than the desired size then just use the image editor to scale it down. Less functional programs may not support that function, but you can create a white square image of the size you want and the copy/paste the photo onto it. Either way, then you can set your photo sizes in the admin, to maintain consistent page layout, and upload the prepared photos in the right size, making pages load faster and have the photos looking good. Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1. pym Posted June 8, 2004 Share Posted June 8, 2004 You might also want to try fiddling with the image height and width in admin... but instead of leaving both fields blank, if you set either the height or the width to a specific value i.e 100... the image will resize proportionately (just remember to leave the other one blank) i.e if you say height : 100 then width must be blank. hope this helps :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
kritelmain Posted July 4, 2004 Share Posted July 4, 2004 When I set the width to blank and hieght to 100, a full size version of the image gets displayed. A lot of people seem to have this problem.
