bpurdon
Hi All, I have an interesting situation and am wondering how, if at all, osCommerce would support (or could be made to support) it. I'm looking to setup an online shop where all products are listed and shown, but where only pre-selected products can actually be purchased online. This comes about because in this country some of the products require a license to posess, and must be collected in person. Other products in the range can quite legally be purchased online and dispatched via a courier as per normal. Is there a way we can list everything, but restrict what can be sold online? Worst case I'll end up modding the code, but I'm hoping there's an 'out of the box' way to achieve this. Cheers.
Guest
Enter:not avail online, next to product # and only enter the price in the description. But then I'm always looking for the easy way. Regards Rolf
bpurdon
Hi Rolf, Thanks for that - not quite what I had in mind, but it pointed me at something that might end up being useful. Thinking I can create a new tax-class and put the 'not for online sale' products in that, then at checkout time determine if the customer has any of those in their basket and advise them "we'll call you to arrange collection". Guess it all hinges around the decision on whether to allow the customer to put these items in the basket in the first place - we're not fully decided there yet. Cheers.
