tim_o_boy
I'd employ a designer to create a nice company logo and associated design for your header. It's the first thing I saw and doesn't give a good first impression. Shouldn't cost much. Personally I don't like the scrolling java app. Looks a bit cheesy. Good luck. Chance
Yeah, java tends to make me instantly angry. My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you. cdi-buy.com
You might wanna consider taking the photos of your shinier products at an angle and in a more non-personal room. I can see you quite clearly in this product: Hall China Twinspout Gold Teapot What you could do is take some black posterboard and make some walls and a ceiling for your product photography area so that you don't have the lighting so obvious in the reflection. If you can, stand back a ways and use your zoom so that it only takes a pic of the product, not what the product reflects. It's tricky and you'll have to play with it till you get it right but it would be worth it. I also would make that "Click Here To Enlarge" image caption stop blinking. It's annoying. I also agree with the others on a new logo & removing that scroller. The scroller slows down response time when clicking links. I'm even on cable and it lagged. DELETE_ME
I would have to agree I am not to fond of Java apps in a web page. The logo at the top could use some work. but besides that its a pretty stock store, wich is not always a bad thing.
phooey04
Although I'm in the minority here, I like the scrolling java app. If you decide to ditch it, I would find another way to get those product pictures on your homepage. The pictures are a great way of telling web visitors what type of products you offer.
bsharke
Hello....and thanks for all the replies. In response to the scroller. The purpose of that is showing some of the most sought after collector pieces available on the site and the variety that otherwise would be hidden until they started browsing through the site. As far as the load time I assume my page loads up much faster than the scroller allowing them the option of looking the site over while the scroller loads. Don on the image I purposely put my reflection in to give them some kind of idea as to the brillancy of the teapot. I explained that in the description. To the consensus on the logo I did that with Webstyle software and was not written in stone it was something that I did in order to get the site up and running and perhaps changing in the future which I assume by the consensus needs some work. Any designer there that could suggest the style or features of a new logo would be appreciated. Thanks Billy

bsharke
Hi John.....Could you tell me if you are seeing a language box on my site? I thought that I disabled that. Is that the same as what you are suggesting to make English my default language if so where do I go about doing that I have not been able to find it in my file manager. Your reply will be appreciated. Thanks Billy
John Doswell
not just delete the language box as you will still have the languages installed, check in admin configuration somewhere near the language settings. the thing is when i visit the site with a german browser are any other than english i get Parse error: parse error, unexpected '/' in /home/blacklig/www/www/includes/languages/german.php on line 118 regards john
