loading the catalog from a .dat file

I have a vendor that is sending me information in a .dat file. The first line of the file has all of the column headings and the file is always in the same format (Category, Brand, Short Desc, Model #, Pic File name, my cost, on hand, long desc, weight, and retail. He sends another zip file with the .jpg's. I need to update my sites information with what he is sending me. What is the easiest way to do this?

 

Also, how do I "link" the .jpg's to the Pic File names? And how do I show the Retail price on the screen, then automatically take my cost + 25% and use that as the Sale price?
