I've looked around and have not seen this addressed yet directly.

Problem: If a credit card is declined, Authorize.net it brings you back to the "Payment Information" page, yet does not inform you that it was declined or gives any extra information.

I was originally using the default Authorize.net module, and it was accepting and confirming the payments just fine. That was until I heard a complaint. After some testing, I figured out that only when the card was declined it would return the customer back to the Payment Information page without any indication as to the reason.

After some research I switched over to the latest version of Authorize.net ADC Direct Connection (Foolproof for OsCommerce2.2MS2 12/12/2003).

I had some minor success with that module, because this time I could see the CC decline message at least embedded within the URL in the address box, but it was still returning to the same Payment Information page without any extra info why the customer was returned there (unless that stared at the URL of course). However, I also noticed if a legit card was entered, it would no longer send the customer to the success page but now to the Payment Information page also yet the order would show up online at Authorize.net.

So it boils down to this:

Is there a better Authorize.net module I should be using?

Am I suppose to configure the settings online with Authorize.net to interact with OsCommerce?

Is there any definitive OsCommerce documentation that deals with Authorize.net?

Am I missing something?

and

What is the best merchant service to use with OsCommerce?

Thanks!

I just found the module called "Authorizenet Consolidated v17.zip". Is this the module that everyone uses for Authorize.net? Will this address the problem with the declined transaction messages not appearing.

Thanks,

I am also trying to setup Authorize.net. When logged into Authorize.net, you must click on Settings and then Response Receipt URL's and add any all URLS that will submit transactions.

What is the Default Receipt URL & Default Relay Response URL that need to be entered here??

I've tried checkout_confirmation.php, checkout_success.php, checkout_payment.php, checkout_process.php and none of them have worked. I keep getting kicked back to the payment information page with an error saying:

"There has been an error processing your credit card. Please try again."

Can anyone help??

Thanks,

Brian

I applied the fix located at :

http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51316&hl=

So I could get a more descriptive error message, now I keep getting the error: "14 - The referrer, relay response or receipt link URL is invalid."

I've seen several references to https://domain.com/catalog/checkout_success.php being the proper relay url, I've also seen some people say that it's https://domain.com/catalog/checkout_process.php. I've tried these in diff combinations and still had no luck.

IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT HAS THIS WORKING WITH AUTHNET ABLE TO HELP? If so, just log into your authorize.net account click on Settings, and then Response/Receipt URLs and please list the following in a reply:

1. What is the Default Receipt URL?

2. What is the Default Relay Response URL?

Thanks,

Brian

I've been fighting this as well... I think I finally got it but there are other issues I'm having.

I have both set to http://domain.com/catalog/checkout_success.php

I'm not getting that error anymore, I get a success message but I can't see the transaction posted in authnet and when I go back to shop the cart is still full with my previous order still in it.

I've done so much too this site I don't even remember what contributions I've included and I'm getting really pissed... I'm probably going to need to start all over again.

Ever heard the term "F&R" (format & restore). Sounds like your script has some problems if its not posting to authnet. Uninstall & Reinstall with the new build. I grabbed the newest build and it was much easier to implement authnet than the previous version I was using.

Thanks,

Brian

BTW, adding too many contributions is a surefire way to hose the files, ALWAYS BACKUP FIRST!! I learned the hard way. :D

Yeh, I know... I think I've gotten it fixed now... I'm just gettting thrown back to the CC page on CC failure, but I can live with that for now. Looks like everything is posting to Authnet as well but I'll have to wait for a live transaction. Thanx for your help with everything.

Format and restore is a great idea except that one of the hacks I use is an integral part of our database and I really cannot have the cart without it without MAJOR modifications.

what a pain.

I'm hoping there is a better solution. I didn't think oscommerce would act like a windows box.

So has anyone figured out how the auth.net module can actually return a useful response to the user when their card is declined? I hear complaints all the time about how "There is an error with your credit card" isn't specific enough, and most of the time, to research the problem, i have to log into auth.net to read the error code.

I have a hard time believing that there's no way to get an accurate error code to the customer. Someone must have done this.

What are the correct authorizenet settings?

And why can't I find them anywhere?
