Search Doesn't Work...??

Hi,

 

What would cause the search (even the advance mode) not 'find' any products???

for example when entering the name or part of the name of a product or even a simple word in the description of the product (i.e. "red" or "dog")

it turns up with:

"There is no product that matches the search criteria."

I am just setting up my store and am having the same problem - search doesn't pick up anything, ever. I haven't changed any of the original query files - any advice? Fixes? I've tried searching the forum and haven't found anyone else having the same problem..
