greysun Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 For some reason when I try to access the database from the admin panel though any contribution it is unable to access something it needs. The error I get is Access Denied No Right Permission Access Please contact your Web Administrator to request more access or if you found any problem. The database is accessed fine from all other areas of admin and contributions can be accessed from catalog. For instance I installed the FAQ mod I can acess the FAQ from catalog but if I go into admin to try and edit the FAQ it doesnt work. Not being able to use mods is kinda crippling me. Can anyone please help me figure out what is going on Grayson
sonny Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 In not sure what the FAQ mod is like, so you have to make sure you installed it right, Accsess denied could mean a multitude of things, you should have 1 database and 1 username and password for both, make sure that the admin and catalog confiqure.php files are using the same database and password. Then check the FAQ documentation, if you had to install new SQL tables, make sure they are defined in Database_tables.php under includes dir in both admin and catalog, Hope you backed up your files!! because if worse comes to worse just try reinstalling the mod again.
greysun Posted June 3, 2004 Author Posted June 3, 2004 The thing is its not just the FAQ mod. Its every mod I install that requires the use of the database. All other mods work fine. I have reinstalled several times with no luck. I ckecked the database. Tables are there. The user name and password are correct in both catalog/includes/configure.php and in admin/includes/configure.php I am sure it si something simple like that but I cant for the life of me find the problem. Thank you though Any other ideas?

greysun Posted June 3, 2004 Author Posted June 3, 2004 The error is in the admin panel. when you click on any selection under the mods admin box you get this error Access Denied No Right Permission Access Please contact your Web Administrator to request more access or if you found any problem. I can go to the database and add and remove items from the mods tables just fine without error. Its only when trying to access it through a mod that has been integrated into admin I can send you the login info if y ou would like to poke around

241 Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 ok then we shall begin. 1. are you logged in as top admin 2. have you enabled the modules in question this is done in admin under administrator then file access select from red flag to green flag for go 3. You will need to also select the folder and store files for the module. No longer giving free advice. Please place deposit in meter slot provided. I had it turned on but didnt understand what the store files deal was about. To be honest I was thinking maybe it was a way to back up the files relate to a mod LOL Well adding the store files fixed the problem. Thank you again for your help
