Pages Upload Too Slow

Guest

Recommended Posts

It takes almost a Minute to upload a page.

It is a truck site.

We have approx. 15 categories (bug deflectors, lighting, suspension, etc)

Each Category has a subcategory for the Manufacturer (Chevy, Ford, Dodge, etc)

Then another subcategory (Avalanche, Silverado, etc)

And Finally a subcategory for year (1997,1998,1999,etc)

We end up with approx. 15,000 products and about 1,500 categories/subcategories

Is this the problem?

Is there a better way to set it up so it is easy to browse for our customers, but the upload time is not so long.

We also Don't want our customers to have to search through 10 pages of bug deflectors until they get the one that fits there vehicle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you talking about uploading a page to the server or the page load times when a customer views a page? If you are referring to uploading a page to the server then this is an issue with your ISP, you will need a faster connection. I assume you are talking about page load times though. This can be helped by reducing image file sizes, turning off category count in admin, enabling mysql query caching, and reducing page sizes. Get yourself a good image editor and play with your images to reduce the file sizes. Also, if you could post the url so we can take a look and give you other options.

Talking about Page Load times

Most images are 18-35k some up to 50K.

We have turned off the category count.

We have removed all the products from the site while we try and figure out this problem.
