How to add a new field in create a account?

Hi all,

I was wondering if any one knows of a easy way to add a new field in the create a account section, I am a newbie to php and any help would be great...

 

I would like to add a VAT number field so companies can input there VAT number and then it will appear on the invoice. (Thats all) ;)
