Newby500 Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Hello, I'm a little confused here. I installed osCommerce and it's running and I changed the wording and stuff. But I can't seem to go on from there. The front page still has the default message. I look at other osCommerce stores and they look great. Am I missing something here? I know a little HTML but do you need to know alot before taking on this project? Help? :huh:
starcad Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Hi Kat, I think the best place to start is just by reading the front page. Next go to the Wiki docs and start reading there. Whole bunch of info on how to change the look and feel of your site. Besure to read the information on the stylesheet.css as this will control the basic look of your site. After you get familur with what is happening when you make changes then add a few contributions one at a time to insure they work. Hope this helps a little.
Destra Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 If you want to mess around a little you can change the initial text by editing the file C:\Apache\htdocs\catalog\includes\languages\english\index.html and the text in define('TEXT_MAIN', 'blah blah '). Read the docs for a full understanding, helps to save you time in the long run. ;)
