i need ideas on how to make people come and buy off my site???

how should i do my advertising?

PS>not being too cheeky:almost-everything.co.uk/shop :D

ehh, you might want to make sure your site works first, I just went there and half the images didn't appear and its pretty stock right now.

If I was crafty, this would be a funny signature.

Thanks i know some of the pictures dont work (but MOST do) try this go into a definite category: like books>fiction etc, and all the books in there should have a pic, sometimes what happens is that my scanner stops working and i put the thing in the catalog anyway so i dont put that thing into a specific category (a way of knowing which things need to have a picture) just outside like a book without pic would go in the book folder BUT a book WITH a pic would go in its category etc...same with videos etc.. hope it helps with what i m trying to say

PS> what do you mean by "its pretty stock now" do you mean it has loads of stock??

First, you should really post this in the last forum on this board titled "My Store".

Second, what Ryan means by stock is, it looks like a basic OSC store. Click on my WWW and click on Ryan's WWW and it will give you a small sample of what a non-stock store can look like.

Thanks for your replies, i dont know any PHP and am relatively new in this shop business, i know it looks like "a default OS store" but hey as long as i make sales!!! :) but in time when i start experimenting i will make it more "prettier"!!!

Most of the image type modifications you would make are all pretty much HTML.

You can change your main color in

stylesheet.css

and you can change most of your images in

/images

/include/languages/english/images/buttons

easiest way to change an image is to just save and image with the same name to the same directory and just overwrite the old image.

If you want to take out an image, just save a 1x1 clear gif with the same name to the same directory and POOF your image is "gone". :)

Image is everything to a consumer. When I started my business I emailed a lot of my would-be competitors and asked them for some advice, believe it or not but many replied and gave me some very good advice and I think the best one was to "Look Professional". Unless you prices are dirt cheap, and even that can be suspicious, customers will be turned away. Your image should make a customer feel comfortable and that comes with a balance of functionality, available and current information and astetics. Granted not everyone can be Graphic Designer or a PHP programmer, but having your images there and sized correctly and editting your styles.css file does not require a Master's Degree. Remember you're not the only supply out there and customers must feel comfortable.

Good Luck
