agiftcodotcom
I hope this is ok for me to post here. I'm not advertising for myself, so I would think it should be ok. I am needing to replace my 97' HP pretty soon. Instead of giving my money to one of the large chains, I would rather help out another OSC'er, so if you own a PC store, please post your link so I can browse what you have to offer. I don't have a lot to spend, but I will try to get the best that I can for my money. Any help/links will be appreciated. agiftcodotcom
Well, I was going to go with another HP since this one has treated me so well, but I was thinking of either buying a machine built buy one of the OSC store owners, or buying an HP from one of the store owners. I basically just want to donate to the cause... ... the broke OSC store owner's cause... ... joeyjgarcia
You might try searching Google with your PC related keywords and "Powered by osCommerce"? Joey
agiftcodotcom
You might try searching Google with your PC related keywords and "Powered by osCommerce"? Joey That's a good idea. I was kind of hoping to support another Forum member as well. That's cool though. I tried, at least I can say that, right? cdi-buy.com
FYI I bought a Compaq S6500NX 512MB RAM, 160 GB HD, 2.17 GHz Athlon XP Processor for less than 800 a couple months ago. Had to buy my own monitor separate but I got a flat panel on ebay brand new for less than 215 so under a grand I have a nice ass computer. I usually hate Compaq but this one is hella nice. Just thought you might wanna know.

sw45859
best bet if you want to save some money is to go with a dell or hp because no one will be able to build you a system with new parts for cheaper and their warranty is good as long as you don't mind having to send the computer off for weeks to get fixed, courtesy of best buy :), but most people who put you a decent system together with new and i stress NEW parts will not be able to build you just the pc (not including monitor, printer, software) for less than $800, as a decent MB and Processor will cost $300+ alone (not boistar) or some crap like that, useing asus or another respected brand, then memory you are looking at $80+ from 512MB+, remember these prices are all estimated from NEW warrantied parts, not refurb or system pull. Thats my advice :) pm me if you need more ps. afterburn your invision table says it cannot insert sessions because the table doesn't exist, maybe you already know just thought i would let you know again
Guest
Actually i can hosestly say dont get a dell yes they may be cheap but remember you get what you pay for. I work for a company Dell outsources too and i basicly do all there warenty repairs in this area. there computers all have the same problems. and all the parts are bad i send back to them and they refurbish them and they use that in there "new systems" that is why there so cheap they reuse everything so really your buing a refurbished computer. oh and the warenty well if you have problems you will be on the phone for 5 hours talking with some idiot in India that knows less about computers then you do. I get all the same complaints I am always being told "I will never buy another Dell" I build a new computer once a year to keep it updated. and i have never had anything go out i still have my fist computer i built about 15 years ago and it still works just as good is it did 15 years ago. thats the advantage of a custom built computer. I have customers i have to go replace parts in there computer 5 or 6 times with diferent things going out. You can do what you want but I just thought you should be prepared.
