Guest
I have a customer who wants to buy some items from me, but they are located in Kampala, Uganda. As far as I can tell, there is no postal code, and I dont know what to put as the postal code. It wont let me get around it when entering shipping address. Does anyone kneow how I should do this, or is there a mod for this? I looked and didnt seem to find one specially for this purpose. Thanks to all who can help :)
Guest
before you even try to ship there, you should check with the regulations regarding shipping into Uganda via the USPS.COM, here is one I saw there: 1. Many types of merchandise require authorization to import, which the addressee must obtain from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry at Kampala. 2. Mailers should be assured that the addressees have such permits or can obtain them if needed.
mugitty
Not a pretty solution, but you can just enter "none" and continue from there ... if you want to REALLY see something that doesn't set up right out of the box without some tweaking, try being a Foster Parent! Guest
I will be shipping it UPS not USPS. USPS will only insure up to $2,499.00, and I need alot more than that.....
mugitty
... and I second John's words of caution about shipping to Uganda. I would also consider it as a likely location (among others) where you might be subject to possible fraudulent orders and/or credit card abuse ... if you want to REALLY see something that doesn't set up right out of the box without some tweaking, try being a Foster Parent! Guest
Hey just make sure the money is in your account and you can actually hold it in your hands before you send that out. There are alot of scams out there from foreign countries and Id hate to see if happen to anyone.
vasttech
Yes counterfeit bank checks are a big problem, especially from other countries. I would be extremely cautious with this one if I were you. Like streetflossin said, make sure you can actually hold the money before you ship. Also, I would have my bank contact the bank it was drawn on just to verify. That way you do not put the money in your account see it added to your balance and 10 days later have it pulled because they found out it was a fake check. osCommerce Knowledge Base osCommerce Documentation Contributions

vasttech
Just call UPS, they will be able to tell you the zip and also help you as far as which documents you will need for customs, etc... Also, make sure your customer knows that they will have to pay customs fees and taxes. Make sure when you ship via UPS internationally you fill out ALL the forms completely and have all the forms that are required to ship to that country, otherwise your customer will get hit with a hefty little charge from UPS for having to do the paperwork for you. osCommerce Knowledge Base osCommerce Documentation Contributions
