Have any of you ever worked throughout the night? What's the story behind it?

Just went through my first overnight of many this week. It's crunch time for me, I got about a week left to finish uploading product and stress-testing the site.

Goodness..that soft, comfortable bed looks really nice right about now...

I go in to the office about 3 in the afternoon and work all night every day. Less people to bug the crap out of me while I am trying to work.

My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you.

I work from home so I just get up when I feel like it, fill orders when I fill like it (in a timely manner of course) and go to sleep when I feel like it. One time I had to run to Wal Mart at 3 AM for an emergency ink cartridge to print a shipping label. That sucked.

In a previous job, I did 2 weeks where I left for work at 1 am to try and get stuff done before everyone else got in... then left for home about 8pm only to repeat it the next day. This was in the middle of a 3 month period where the odd 36 hour working day was at least a once a week occurence and a 14 hour day was standard, all to try and dig the company out of the proverbial. It hacked off my girlfriend big style!!

I got made redundant a few months later when I pulled the boss up on an involuntary pay cut!!! Gratitude, eh?

Never again... except on my OWN company!!! ;)
