Guest Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 I like some of the features of oscommerce, but a lot of things are missing from the features list that I need and not sure if it's available. inventory management coupons gift certificates stock purchasing orders customer emails through each order processing step ? I know some of these things are available as modules, but shouldn't some of this just be core stuff?

The reason for this is we are aiming for a good clean code base for MS-3 with a few new features. MS-4 will see the integration of the most popular contributions into the code base. Guest Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 HOw can i find out which contributions are the most popular and if chosen to become core components, what will the upgrade/migration path be like? Should we wait for them to become core?

There is a sticky post where people have posted suggestions which will give you an indication of the most popular. We will provide an upgrade script as much as possible.. however there are big changes planned for MS-3 yet which will break backwards compatability. There is a thread in the news and annoucement channel and also there is the workboard on the main osCommerce site which will let you know what tasks are outstanding.
