royalfunk
I was wondering if it is possible to take a fully customized osCommerce store & correlating database and duplicate it onto another domain. I have spent months working on one store site and it is perfect. I would like to be able to take this site and copy it into another domain/account so that I can customize it from where it is now for another company, rather than having to completely re-install all the Contributions and customizations. Thanks, Aaron
csqepaul
Try this. First ftp the entire oscommerce directory contents to a local drive. Then do a backup of the database as SQL only. Next ftp the database backup to your local drive. Now for the fun part. Install oscommerce on your new domain. Next ftp your the oscommerce directory from your local machine to your new domain. Update your config file to reflect the new domain setting. Finally ftp your database backup to your new domain and perform a restore. I have used this in the past and others may have additional input on completing the operation. Good Luck! [:>)
Chance
Copy the /www/ directory, do an sql dump, and put it on the new server. This is a very easy task. My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you.
