808smokey
I was wondering if anyone knows of a MOD rewrite for OSC. I can't find one. or any instructions on how to do it? Thanks
Rob123
I think you can find what you are looking for with the following contribution: SEF Link Transformer I am definately not the author, but I love the contribution and would highly recommend it. You can see it in action on my site: http://www.pawstoshop.com/product2275/product_info.html Robert
808smokey
Hi, Thanks the link I looked at it and I wasn't sure how difficult it was to install? I already have an htaccess file to point from the root to the catalog so how would I combine the too? Thanks
Rob123
Hmm... according to the readme.txt file... "You MUST have osCommerce installed to site root (shop.com, not shop.com/catalog)" It seems you can't use a redirect in your .htaccess file. My site is installed in the site root, so I'm not sure how to answer your question. Perhaps you can post your question in the forum for the SEF Link Transformer http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50336 Robert
808smokey
my site path is www.mysite.com and the OSC is in www.mysite.com/catalog so is that the Root?? If I type in www.mysite.com it goes directly to my OSC there's no "real" redirect. I think I can get my host to fix it? They showed how to install the htaccess file. Rob123
Sorry, but I can only refer you to the contribution's readme file that I quoted above. Since you have a unique situation, you may want to ask the author in the support forum (also above). If want you can always try it out on your test system after a full backup. I'm a noob with 5 posts and it took me a total of 10 minutes to install the contribution. I'm not sure if it will work for you. Good Luck, Robert
