808smokey Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Hi, When you type in yahoo.com it redirects you to www.yahoo.com. For my site I can type aplus-computersonline.com and it goes directly to it. it doesn't put the www. in front of it. I can type in www.mysite.com and it goes to www.mysite.com. So I was wondering how they do that and if I should try to get my site to do that too? Thanks
Guest Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Basically these are pointers... You will need to check with your hosting firm to see how you can add pointer. For example, I can add up to 25 different pointers.
nrlatsha Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 They probably call them redirects in your hosting panel. Pointers are something completely different in the DNS world... 9 times out of 10 its a PEBCAK Error (Problem exists between chair and keyboard) Replace that and you're fine...
