Error!Unable to determine the page link!(catalog)

Recommended Posts

hi this is a brand new installation (cvs latest daily download). the stuff in the catalog page don't go to their links after clicking!!

in the bottom of the first page it says"Error!Unable to determine the page link!"

after clicking on a product link, it gives an error saying "No input file specified"!!

I use mysql. the admin works fine.

would appreciate input. thanks.

No i did not edit the configure.php files (you mean the ones inside the include/?).

If I went through the installation wizard that did the job for me!! i looked at the configure.php in both the catalog/include and the admin/include and I saw nothing wrong with them!!

i'm waiting for your response now.. please. thanks for your promptness!

Hi thanks for reply. did you try clicking on any of the products? also, did you look in the very bottom of the page ? didn't you see the error notice saying there's link problem?

:) the reason site is slow is because my DSL is down this week, so I'm using a dial up until it gets settled with :)

please click on the product and tell me if you see the product details!

Also here's the catalog/include/configure.php :

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.healthoffice.us'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('HTTPS_SERVER', ''); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?

define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.healthoffice.us');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', '');

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/health/shops/');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '');

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/health/shops/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '');

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');

define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');

define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'boxes/');

define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/');

define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/');

define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/');

define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/');

define('DIR_WS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', 'pub/');

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', 'x:/xx/xx/health/shops/');

define('DIR_FS_WORK', 'x:/xx/xx/health/shops/health_data/');

define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/');

Ok see? nothing's wrong!!

First, people will answer your post. It is against forum rules to keep bumping. Just because you do not see something wrong with the configure.php file does not mean there is not a problem. Obviously there is an issue somewhere since you are having a problem. 9 times out of 10 problems such as yours are related to configure.php file issues.

Second, I went to the URL posted and I do not get any errors or any problems. I can view the product descriptions just fine.

I did notice though that when you go to the page, the base href is getting set to http://www.artsociety.us/shops/catalog/. Since this is pulled from the configure.php file, and you have no reference to this below, I am kinda confused. The way it looks you have the following lines configured as such:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.www.artsociety.us');

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/shops/');

Check to make sure that you do not have another configure.php file somewhere if you are still experiencing the problems. But since I can not duplicate the problem on the URL you sent I can not troubleshoot.

i just figured out why i get errors!!!! but don't know how to fix them. and for the life of me i don't see how you see the product details with this error!!

as for as the url http://www.artsociety.us/shops goes...... that is another domain that i have pointing at the same main folder with subfolder shops (another oscommerce shop in it that works fine)!

But here it is the problem that i found!!!:

when you place your mouse on the product pic prior to clicking the url it gives you that it will send you to has the following problems with it:

lets say this URL:

1. first problem lies in between "id" and "5"

it should be id=5

2. second one is:

php/products !!

it should be php?products!!

so correct URL should be:

so how do we fix this???

You have enable search engine safe urls enabled in admin. Set it to false and that will fix that problem.

it was a nice collaboration. i found the location of errors and you knew the source :)

thanks.. it's fixed now.. now 2am and i can go to sleep nicely!!!

thank you.

so for future problems you're the man to ask :)

:D :)
