ThePhoenix Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Like the title says but thats not actually true. I am using smartftp as my ftp program. I right click on the config file and hit properties/CHMOD and make sure the permissions are on 644. But when I load up my oscommerce page (newly installed) it still gives me the error message: Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/ldubb/public_html/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. Anyon have any advice on this? Every tutorial I have read tells me to do what I am already doing but it doesnt seem to be working.
AlanR Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Read through this thread. http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=87339&st=0& I think that on some servers it's an ownership issue. They won't allow the ftp client the authority to change permissions. This little script runs as the same owner as the server.
